Within our 50,000 square foot facility, we have an Engel production line for straight ductwork, a Vulcan production line to pre-fabricate ductwork fittings, and an ISM Mestek production machine whereby we fabricate spiral ductwork. We also employ a state of the art, automated robotic production line for the pre-fabrication of piping and tubing for our projects. The following list includes but is not limited to our pre-fabrication services for our clients:
Our pre-fabrication abilities allows us to be in a position to manage quality and safety control, build, fabricate and store major systems off-site, within a weather controlled environment, with an optimum degree of efficiency and productivity, and then deliver to our project site, and install as integral system components within the field.
We believe our quality program involves many essential components to ensure our clients with an exceptional project. Such components include planning, and implementing the scope of work as outlined within the construction documents of our projects, as well as our internal preconstruction quality control measures. We utilize our diverse piping and ductwork pre-fabrication facility, which ensures the utmost quality control and internal over sight, all within the confines of a conditioned and controlled environment. We believe that the training of our employees on safety, materials, tools, and project specific requirements is also an essential component of quality, along with the implementation and installation of such work by our experienced employees and craftsman within the field.
Project Commissioning is the process of assuring that all systems and components of a building or plant are designed, installed, tested, operated, and maintained according to the operational requirements of the owner. Commissioning begins up front during the pre-construction stages, and continues all the way through the construction of the project. Key procedures of Commissioning involve contract document compliance, and document control. It includes the periodic review with the owner’s Commissioning Agent, as well as the other prime contractors to ensure as a whole, that the overall commissioning process is being executed as designed. It includes our internal planning and checklist, that is reviewed within our QCM Meetings throughout the project, including our major subcontractors, as well as up to date record keeping, including manufacturer maintenance records, testing reports and start-up.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is an ecology-oriented building certification program run under the auspices of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED provides building owners and operators a concise framework for identifying and implementing practical and measurable green building design, construction, operations and maintenance solutions. The system is categorized in five basic areas: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Buildings are awarded points based on the extent various sustainable strategies are achieved. We work within the process on LEED specific projects.
Smith's Refrigeration, Inc., began in 1957 with a primary focus on the Refrigeration market, and approached leading chain stores for maintenance and installation contracts. In 1967 Smith's Refrigeration, Inc. had become one of the largest Refrigeration Corporations in the Southeast. We offer value engineering, design assistance, equipment repair, service, and preventative maintenance for our Refrigeration clients.
By having a 50,000 square foot facility, including eight tractor trailer docks, it gives us the opportunity and advantage to be innovative, and allows us tremendous flexibility in the pre-construction activities of a project, and in our planning approach. Because of the expanse of the space we have, we have such capabilities as ductwork, piping fabrication and storage. It also allows us to bring in major pieces of equipment, and to begin specialized construction activities and check out, prior to on-site delivery to our projects.
